The Morgantown Municipal Airport, in conjunction with Morgantown Police and Fire and other local emergency organizations, will conduct a large-scale Triennial Emergency Exercise on Thursday (April 29) beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Access to the airport is prohibited to the public during the exercise.

The airport will reopen at approximately 12:30 p.m. following the exercise.

The exercise, mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration, simulates an emergency response at the airport. The exercise involves organizations that would be involved in a real incident. The incident command system is used for the exercise and the various responders follow their emergency response plans as if the incident was real. The goal of the exercise is to evaluate emergency response and identify areas for improvement.
