Voting for the 2021 West Virginia University Staff Council election opens Wednesday (April 21) and will continue through April 27, at 6 p.m. Preliminary election results will be announced April 28.
Any full-time and part-time regular classified staff member employed by WVU as of Feb. 1 is eligible to cast their ballot for candidates seeking the following seats:
Staff Council chair.
Staff Council members representing each of the five classified staff job sectors.
Advisory Council of Classified Employees (ACCE) representative.
Staff Council Board of Governors (BOG) representative.
Classified staff who work at WVU Institute of Technology, WVU Potomac State College and WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Charleston Division are ineligible to participate in the WVU Staff Council election process except when voting for the Staff Council BOG representative, who serves all campuses.
All eligible voters will receive an email from Votenet (the online ballot tool) on Wednesday, April 21.
The email will contain a link, which will connect voters directly to the ballot. Each voter will have a unique username and password for accessing the ballot. The ballot will be available for seven days (April 21 –27).
If you are eligible to participate in the election process and do not receive the Votenet email on Wednesday, be sure to check your Clutter, Spam or Junk email folders to see if the message was redirected.
