Join the 3rd Annual Black Love Day Celebration

Black Love Day

Rise WVU will host its 3rd Annual Black Love Day Celebration with an interactive panel discussion to review Black Love's representation in the media and its dynamics within the black community Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Black Love Day was founded by Nya Akoma on Feb. 13, 1993, as an alternative to Valentine’s Day. This nationally commemorated African-American holiday has the spiritual goals of encouraging black self-love instead of self-hatred, increasing peace to stop violence and facilitating racial healing.

Register for the Feb. 11 panel discussion.
