The WVU Social Action Clinic will kick off the spring semester with “Mountaineers for Social Action” Jan. 28, at 6 p.m. via Zoom, featuring a panel of voices from WVU and the greater Morgantown community.
A primary goal of the Social Action Clinic is to provide students with a platform to create and empower sustainable solutions for social needs in West Virginia. Though our community is separated, through this event, we will come together to create these social action projects.
Panelists include:
WVU President Gordon Gee
Sudhanshu Mishra, chair, Student Service Advisory Board
Jason Ottley, race scholar and social justice advocate
Cheyenne Luzynski- teaching assistant professor, Leadership Studies Program
Participants will split into breakout rooms with a panelist and work together to draft ideas for a social action project. The purpose of this program is to provide a platform for students, faculty and staff to be a part of the solution for community needs.
The mission of the “Mountaineers for Social Action” is to establish communication between the various individuals who embody the pursuit of social action. It is the first opportunity the social action clinic has to engage with the student face to face or Zoom screen-to-Zoom screen.
