Although the WVU Value Coin program was originally designed to last just one year, the program proved to be popular among faculty and staff, so it continued in subsequent years. And as we prepare to kick off the fourth year of the program, we need your help in choosing next year’s design.
At WVU, we see examples every day of faculty and staff bringing our land-grant mission to life and advancing education, healthcare and prosperity across the state and around the world.
And in a year unlike any other, we also have seen countless instances of employees across our University going above and beyond — often taking on roles and responsibilities outside of their typical job duties — to support our campus community and help us navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To recognize those faculty and staff members who make a difference through their daily work, the University started the WVU Values Coin program in 2017 as part of our 150th anniversary celebration.
Cast your vote for the 2021 WVU Values Coin design.
The three design options for next year’s coin were created with input from faculty and staff who were prior WVU Values Coins recipients.
You can vote for your favorite design today through Friday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. by visiting go.wvu.edu/values-coin-voting. The winner will be announced the week of Dec. 21.
If you are a prior WVU Values Coin recipient, be sure to register your coin at go.wvu.edu/coin-registry.
WVU is providing a 2020 coin to 2019-coin recipients to “pay it forward” to other faculty and staff who embody our core values. However, with many employees continuing to work remotely, the distribution process for these coins has been delayed.
2019 coin recipients who currently are working on campus can email LOD@mail.wvu.edu to request their pay-it-forward coin. 2019 coin recipients who are working remotely will receive their pay-it-forward coin when they return to onsite work.
