As part of continuing efforts to recognize diverse populations and provide them with appropriate services and support, the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action recently profiled Kendra Shaw — an administrative associate at the WVU Carruth Center.
Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 2, Shaw always has used a wheelchair; however, compelled by a personal drive to “do more,” she has not let a disability get in the way of pursuing her education and career goals. Visit the Talent and Culture website to read Shaw’s full story.
Shaw’s profile is the second installment in an occasional story series — called “I Count” — where members of our diverse workforce share their experiences working at the University.
If you are an individual with a disability, self-identification is key to WVU providing adequate programs and services. Self-identifying also is confidential and easy.
