Free voluntary COVID-19 testing for faculty and staff who are working on campus

covid testing

In anticipation of in-person undergraduate classes resuming in Morgantown on Monday, Sept. 28, the University is offering faculty and staff who are working on campus the opportunity to undergo free voluntary COVID-19 testing* throughout this week.

Time slots are available Tuesday through Friday (Sept. 22-25) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the WVU Student Recreation Center. Availability is limited, and scheduling is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Faculty and staff can register for their preferred date/time using the instructions below beginning at 1 p.m. today (Sept. 21).

Register for Testing

  1. As part of the registration process, you will be required to consent to a COVID-19 testing program terms of services, HIPAA waiver and complete an online pre-test questionnaire.
  2. You will complete the above items and register for your preferred testing date/time via StarRez (WVU’s housing portal): myhousing.wvu.edu

Click the Login button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. WVU login credentials and a WVUID number are required to register for testing. You can claim your account, reset your password or find your WVUID number at login.wvu.edu. View detailed instructions on the registration process.
  3. After you have registered, you should receive email confirmation of your testing date/time. You also may want to take a screenshot of the confirmation webpage for your records.

Be sure to wear a mask/face covering and arrive on time to your appointment. Upon your arrival, you will check in and verify your information. You will be asked to provide your Mountaineer Card and/or your 800 number, so be sure to have them readily available.

You should receive your test results within three to five days. As always, you should continue to follow the University’s safety protocols while awaiting your results.

Students, faculty and staff are required to report if they test positive for COVID-19 (even those who test positive outside of WVU’s testing process) or are self-quarantining due to suspected or known exposure to COVID-19. Students should notify the WVU CARE Team, and employees should notify WVU Medical Management.

Thank you for doing your part to promote a safe and healthy campus community by participating in the voluntary faculty and staff COVID-19 testing program and following WVU’s other safety protocols.
