Coming soon: The Market @UPlace with a Starbucks and Panda Express

As part of continuing efforts to enhance the customer experience for students, faculty, staff and campus visitors, WVU Dining Services will be adding two new dining locations to the Morgantown campus in the fall 2020 semester.

A new marketplace location — called the Market @ UPlace — will be operated by WVU Dining Services and replace the empty storefront formerly occupied by Sheetz near University Place. The marketplace will feature a full-service Starbucks, grab-and-go options and an extensive grocery section carrying everything from produce and meats to paper towels and frozen foods.

“We are really excited about this new offering,” said Dave Beaver, associate vice president of Auxiliary and Business Services. “The Market @ UPlace will provide students, faculty and staff a place to grab a Starbucks coffee or beverage and do their shopping at the heart of our Downtown campus.”

The Market @ UPlace will be open at the beginning of the fall semester.

Additionally, WVU Dining Services will be adding Panda Express as another dining option at the Mountainlair Food Court, replacing the current Burgershop location. Panda Express will offer a selection of American-Chinese cuisine featuring bold flavors and fresh ingredients.

“Panda Express will provide students a different location to use their dining plans,” WVU Dining Services General Manager Evan Jacobsen said. “This restaurant is a great fit for the Mountainlair, and it will offer our campus community popular and quality cuisine.”

An opening date for Panda Express is expected to be announced during the fall semester.

Dean of Students Corey Farris said, “Students tell us new choices and locations for a meal, a quick snack or grocery items are important to them. The Market @ UPlace and Panda Express complement WVU Dining’s current options and are sure to be popular with our students. Increasing options typically improves overall student satisfaction and their campus experience.”

As these new locations open, WVU Dining Services will be ensuring they are compliant with physical distancing and other safety measures to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19. Visit the Return to Campus website for additional details.

WVU Dining Services looks forward to providing guests more dining and food options on the Morgantown campus through these new additions. Visit the WVU Dining Services website for more information.
