STAR and Schedule Builder will be unavailable 6-7 p.m. Thursday, July 9 for important upgrades that will improve the class registration experience in both tools.

Once the upgrades are finished, students will be able to complete the registration process within the Schedule Builder app, rather than returning to STAR to submit a shopping cart. It also will be easier to search for courses, see more course details and update personal information.

Students also may continue to register for classes by selecting Access Registration Tools link in STAR. That process will have a new look and feel, and some additional improvements in functionality:

  • Instead of toggling between the Schedule of Courses screen and the Banner registration pages, you will have an all-in-one tool.

  • There is a new calendar view in STAR, similar to what exists in Schedule Builder.

  • Anywhere you see a class title (i.e., Chemistry), you can click on it to bring up the Class Details pop-up. This will show class restrictions, fees, attributes and more, including how to find books for classes.

  • You can more easily update your Personal Information after selecting the tab in STAR.

The only change to the faculty view in STAR will be under the Personal Information tab. Faculty still only have access to update emergency contacts.

If you have trouble logging into STAR after the maintenance period, try clearing your browser history, then closing and relaunching the browser. This resolves most login errors. If you still need help, call the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444.
