A ‘thank you’ to UPD during National Police Week

UPD University Police

As we honor National Police Week, the University extends a sincere “thank you” to everyone at the WVU Police Department for their tireless efforts in serving and protecting our campus community year-round.

Our police officers make countless sacrifices each day. They face the challenges of unpredictable, high-pressure situations and put their own safety on the line to protect our campus community. Despite these sacrifices, they continue to serve with dedication, always putting the needs of others first.

The entire team plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for everyone on campus. Whether responding to emergencies, building relationships with the community or fielding calls for assistance, the department’s dedication and service are key to ensuring a secure and welcoming University experience for all.

In addition to the role it plays in law enforcement, we are also grateful for the additional resources and services the department provides through valuable trainings to help us prepare for any scenario, presence at campus events and sharing safety tips with all Mountaineers.

UPD truly helps foster a secure campus environment, and we deeply value and appreciate all that this team does.

Thank you for your service, UPD!
