The WVU Women's Resource Center is refocusing many of its efforts to empower more women at WVU and in West Virginia communities to promote and offer an open conversation on gender equity.
With the launch of a new website to better support the needs of faculty, staff and students, the WRC is offering an inclusive environment where students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in programs, obtain helpful resources and services, and engage in dialogue related to gender awareness and equity.
Featuring women's on-and-off campus resources, not only does the new WRC identify safety, healthcare and career resources, but also LGBTQ+, veterans, immigration and low-income services, as well as women's group information and work-life balance policies.
In addition, the WRC encourages students to get involved through their coursework. By taking classes in Women's and Gender Studies to social work, psychology and more, students can contribute to the gender equity mission at WVU every day.
The WRC also looks forward to cross-promoting events focused on gender equity and women's issues. When posting events on the WVU calendar, please make sure to tag "Women's Resource Center" and they will pop up on the WRC events page.
