2020 Three Minute Thesis winners announced

Three Minute Thesis

The 3MT competition originated at the University of Queensland in Australia as a research communication exercise that challenges graduate students to present a compelling oration on their thesis topic.

On April 2, the 2020 WVU Three-Minute Thesis Competition was held when 10 finalists were tasked with summarizing months of research in just three minutes with one static slide to aid their presentation.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the originally scheduled in-person Grand Finale was transitioned to video submissions. Doctoral students from across the university competed for cash prizes of up to $1,000 and over 1,000 members of the university community participated in selecting the People’s Choice Award winner.
