Most events for West Virginia University’s Research Week, which was slated for March 27 through April 4, have either been canceled or postponed to Fall 2020.

But for a few events, the show will go on virtually.

The 3MT (Three-Minute Thesis) Grand Finale, hosted by the Office of Graduate Education and Life, will be held as a virtual competition. The 3MT is an academic research communication competition that challenges graduate students to present their research topic and its significance in three minutes using just one slide.

A link to the presentations and voting information will be available in Thursday’s (April 2) E-News.

Also available in editions of E-News this week will be announcements regarding:

- Distinction in Mentoring Undergraduates in Research,

- Distinction in Mentoring Graduate Students awards, and

- the inaugural grantees for the Research Collaborative for a Safe and Healthy Society from the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences.

Additionally, WVU Press is hosting Kevin Gannon for a virtual book launch at 11 a.m. Wednesday (April 1). A scholar, teacher and activist known for exploring topics at the intersection of higher education and social justice, Gannon will discuss his new book “Radical Hope” with panelists Joshua Eyler and Sherri Spelic.
