Given the current uncertainties related to COVID-19, Environmental Health and Safety has decided to prepare for the possibility of an interruption in hazardous waste services.
Please submit a Hazardous Waste Disposal Request for all chemical waste containers – full or nearly full as soon as possible. EHS will be picking up waste campuswide today (Tuesday, March 17) and tomorrow (Wednesday, March 18). Be sure to include a request for enough waste containers to collect all hazardous wastes you will generate through April.
Beginning Monday, March 23, waste will only be picked up if satellite limits have been exceeded. We regret the inconvenience that these decisions may cause; however, the health and safety of our team and you is our number-one priority.
Individuals responsible for Weekly Inspections of Central Accumulation Areas should notify ehs_chemicals@mail.wvu.edu if compliance with this requirement cannot be met.
Any updates to future changes in hazardous waste services will be communicated via ENEWS and social media.
If you have specific questions regarding hazardous waste management, please email ehs_chemicals@mail.wvu.edu or call 304-293-5810. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this evolving situation.
