Mike Gansor, WVU Risk Manager, will retire from his position April 1 after 23 years’ service to WVU. He has not only been a valuable member of the WVU community but has also made significant contributions to the higher education Risk Management industry. Gansor has represented WVU on three different professional risk management associations: University Risk Management & Insurance Association; Risk & Insurance Management Society; and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Society.

Working with the dedicated employees of WVU is what Gansor will miss the most. He has immensely enjoyed the opportunity to work with WVU and all of the WVU departments as well as the many experienced and talented individuals that he has met during his career with WVU. The wonderful thing about risk management is that no two days are ever the same and there are new challenges every day. With the new free time, he looks forward to spending more time with family, catching up on a long list of household projects, and spending more time fishing the many beautiful rivers and streams West Virginia has to offer.

Current Risk Analyst Kelsey Richards will assume the role of Risk Manager. Richards has been with WVU Risk Management for over six years and is well-versed in every aspect of Risk Management. In addition to being a graduate of the Chambers College of Business & Economics, she has received the Associate in Risk Management designation, and the prestigious and rigorous Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation.
