If innovation and entrepreneurship drive you, join TechConnect West Virginia and WVU TransTech Energy Business Development Program for “Innovation & Entrepreneurship Day” Feb. 5 at the State Capitol in Charleston.
Now in its ninth year, this “Day at the Capitol” features organizations, companies and people that work to advance innovation and entrepreneurship across our state. The event is a great opportunity to network in the House and Senate hallways with legislators, key state officials, manufacturers, innovators, entrepreneurs and colleagues. You may also set up exhibits to demo products and provide information on your company or organization.
“It’s a chance to meet your state legislator, and discuss ideas, initiatives, and policies that help create jobs and promote new, innovative businesses located within WV,” said Angela Shock, Program Coordinator for WVU TransTech.
Event Schedule
Event registration begins at 8 a.m. and the exhibit hall will open at 8:30 a.m.
At 11:30 a.m., both TransTech and TechConnect-WV will announce and celebrate the 2020 winners of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Industrial Energy Efficiency, the Governor’s Award for Leadership in Green Advanced Manufacturing and the Spirit of Innovation awards.
At 1 p.m., there will be a workshop for entrepreneurs in the state who are interested in three specific areas of business development. The State SBIR/STTR Matching Funds Program, the WVU I-Corps “Business Bootcamp,” and programs from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The event concludes at 4 p.m.
