A teaching philosophy statement is required by many search committees as part of the faculty hiring process. It is a brief, self-reflective statement of your beliefs about teaching and learning and how you put your beliefs into practice.
This hands-on workshop will guide you to identify your central beliefs about teaching and help you to explain how you put your beliefs into practice. You will have an opportunity to begin developing a clear, concise, and effective teaching philosophy statement.
Feb. 3 from 4-5 p.m.
Room 104 of the Downtown Library
Presenters: John Oughton, Assistant Director, Teaching
and Learning Commons; and Todd Hamrick, Teaching Associate Professor, Fundamentals of Engineering Program
