The WVU Sustainable Landscapes Committee is seeking volunteers for two pollinator garden maintenance sessions from 9 to 11 a.m. on the Downtown area of campus Wednesday (June 25) or the Evansdale area of campus Thursday (June 26).
In celebration of Pollinator Week, volunteers will perform regular garden maintenance while learning why campus pollinator gardens are important and what plant species help them thrive.
The Morgantown Campus became a certified Bee Campus in January 2024 after establishing multiple pollinator gardens on campus and forming a committee to further pollinator enhancements.
Pollinator Week was created by the nonprofit Pollinator Partnership in 2011 to promote the valuable ecosystem services provided by bees, butterflies and other pollinator species and to address declining pollinator populations.
