WVU Police Department ranked 14th among peer organizations in the Security 500 Report

Security 500

According to the recent Security 500 Report, the West Virginia University Police Department is ranked 14th among security organizations at higher education institutions.

The report is based on responses to the Security 500 Survey, which compares and measures various organizations to create a benchmarking program among security organizations.

The survey results are based on information from multiple sources, including data supplied directly by organizations as well as public resources and records. The security programs of organizations within 20 sectors were measured and evaluated among their peer organizations.

“Promoting safety and security across our campus community continues to be our top priority,” said West Virginia University Police Chief W.P. Chedester. “However, safety is a shared responsibility, and we all must continue to work together to provide a safe learning, working and living environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors to our campus.”
