Holiday Tech Tip: Print Duo bypass codes and keep Service Desk hours in mind

As you prepare for winter break, remember the ITS Service Desk will operate on reduced hours over the holidays and will close when the University is closed. Prevent potential problems with Duo two-factor authentication by printing out 10 bypass codes now and storing them in your wallet. Go to login.wvu.edu and select “Print Backup Codes or Add Duo Token.”

These codes are handy if you break, lose or replace the phone you used to set up your Duo Mobile account. If you replace your phone, you’ll need a one-time bypass code to log in and remove your old device then add the new one, even if you keep your old phone number.

You can still look up answers and check for outages when the Service Desk is closed. You may also leave voicemail at 304.293.4444 or create a ticket by emailing ITSHelp@mail.wvu.edu, but these won’t be addressed until we reopen.
