The Local to Global Film Series continues Wednesday (Dec. 4) in the Gluck Theatre at 7 p.m. with Touki Bouki.

Djibril Diop Mambéty paints a portrait of Senegal in the early 1970s. In this French New Wave–influenced fantasy-drama, two young lovers long to leave Dakar for the glamour and comforts of France, but their escape plan is beset by complications both concrete and mystical (Criteron).

The screening will begin with an introduction from Jesse Hester, graduate student (Dept. of History). The event is co-sponsored by Libraries and Humanities Center.
