The Biosafety Office of the Environmental Health and Safety Department, in conjunction with the ABSA International-The Association for Biosafety and Biosecurity, would like to announce that October is Biosafety Month.
ABSA International is proud to announce the sixth anniversary of Biosafety Month in October 2019. The theme for this year is “Beyond the Lab: Increasing the Visibility of Biosafety and Biosecurity” with the social networking hashtag #biosafety_biosecuritymonth
Biosafety month will culminate with events across campus. Join the Biosafety team for activities, prizes, and learning at the following times and locations:
Oct. 25 -Life Sciences Building 3rd Floor Lobby. 10 a.m. to noon
Oct. 29 - Health Sciences Center 1st Floor Commons Area 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Oct 30 - New Agricultural Sciences Building 3rd Floor Lobby 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Oct. 30 - Engineering Sciences Building Commons Area (Near G102) noon to 2 p.m.
The 2019 Biosafety Month is a period of time when individuals and organizations are encouraged to promote visibility of biosafety on campus, promote biosafety as a scientific discipline, and highlight the multidimensional nature of the biosafety professional; we’re more than compliance people.
Throughout the month of October, the Biosafety office has been engaged in awareness campaigns and activities to enhance and reinforce the key principles of Biosafety on campus.
