The Procurement, Contracting and Payment Services team announces several enhancements to MyTravel – WVU’s standard booking and travel expense management platform.
MyTravel offers great rates and built-in compliance to ensure all bookings are in accordance with BOG Finance and Administration Rule 5.8 – Travel, which goes into effect Oct. 1.
Further, MyTravel is backed by World Travel, which is a dedicated support agency for assisting travelers. MyTravel also uses the industry-leading Concur online travel booking tool; however, faculty and staff (or their proxy) also may book travel by emailing or calling a World Travel agent.
Benefits of the MyTravel platform include:
Personal Preferences – Personal travel preferences (e.g., ideal seat on a plane, desired airline or hotel, preferred hotel room type, etc.) of each traveler will be applied automatically to each booking with no extra hassle or fee.
Reward Programs – Reward programs (e.g., airline or hotel reward memberships) can be added to the system, and they will be applied automatically to each reservation.
“Worry-Free” Booking – If a booking option is available in MyTravel, it generally is allowable under University policy. However, if you happen to select an option that is not allowed (e.g., an SUV or larger vehicle), the system will notify you.
Car Rental and Insurance Discounts – The WVU discount rate for Enterprise and National Car Rental will be applied automatically to each booking. Insurance and other contracted benefits also will be included in the reservation.
Dedicated Support – 24/7 assistance is available through World Travel for any changes when you are on the go. Contact World Travel at 877-778-7936 or teamb@worldtrav.com.
Great-Rate Guarantees – If you find a cheaper travel option elsewhere, World Travel will match the price. WVU also has ensured all options provided in MyTravel are traveler-centric (e.g., no basic economy options), and we have removed prepaid hotel options, which are nonrefundable.
Future Savings – By using MyTravel now, you can help the University secure better rates in the future.
Traveler Safety – If you book through MyTravel, the International SOSsystem will notify you if there are threats in areas where you are travelling.
Visit the MyTravel website for more information. The site includes FAQs, training material, helpful hints and more for using the MyTravel platform.
