C. B. Wilson will conduct the Morgantown Municipal Band when it performs its annual Independence Day program at 11 a.m. July 4 as part of the 2019 “Celebration of America.”

The outdoor concert will be performed under the front overhang of the Creative Arts Center, due to the renovation of the Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park. In keeping with a long-standing tradition, Wilson will tie the program together with a theme that is not announced in advance. The program includes music by Richard Rodgers, William Schuman, Charles Ives, John Philip Sousa, Irving Berlin and others.

This program marks the 30th consecutive Independence Day Concert by the band.

Patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and sun protection (hats, umbrellas). Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the CAC.

The program is sponsored by Suttle & Stalnaker, PLLC, CPAs, and WesBanco Bank, under the auspices of Main Street Morgantown, with assistance from the College of Creative Arts. The Morgantown Municipal Band is an associate of Arts Monongahela.
