The Office of the Provost and the Research Office remind the campus community—faculty, staff and students—to mark their calendars for a variety of events taking place on campus April 1-5 to celebrate the high volume and caliber of West Virginia University research.
A calendar of events for the university’s inaugural Research Week can be found at provost.wvu.edu. Events that require an rsvp are clearly marked as such and hyperlinks are provided for rsvps. Some events are invitation-only, and many others are open to the entire campus, with no rsvp required.
Centrally organized open events include:
An informational panel for faculty and staff (including HSC) interested in pursuing a Fulbright
2 p.m. April 1, Mountainlair Monongahela Room
Rsvp to ResearchWeek@mail.wvu.edu
An open forum with program officers from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, followed immediately by a reception open to all
2:30 p.m. April 2, Erickson Alumni Center
Two informational sessions on research support services available to all researchers on campus.
11:30 April 3, 104 Downtown Library
11:30 April 4, 120 Advanced Engineering Research Building
Rsvp to ResearchWeek@mail.wvu.edu
The final round of the university’s annual Three-Minute Thesis Competition for graduate students is at 6 p.m. on April 4 in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.
New events are being added to this calendar daily as colleges and other research-focused units share information about their events.
Colleges, departments and other research-focused units are reminded to co-brand their own research-centric events—panels, speakers, awards ceremonies, poster presentations—as Research Week events and to submit them to researchweek@mail.wvu.edu to be added to the Research Week calendar.
Questions, concerns or ideas for Research Week should also be submitted directly to researchweek@mail.wvu.edu.
