If you are still using WVU’s free Kaspersky anti-virus on your personally owned computer and are unable to connect to the internet while on WVU’s network, uninstalling it may fix the problem. Go to Kaspersky’s website and follow the instructions for Windows or macOS. If you have problems, visit one of the ITS Service Centers for assistance.
To continue protecting your personal computer, ITS strongly recommends installing WVU’s new anti-virus software, Sophos. You can download it for free at freeav.wvu.edu.
If after uninstalling Kaspersky you still cannot connect to the internet, contact ITS Service Desk at ITSHelp@mail.wvu.edu or 304.293.4444.
