As House Bill 2519, which would permit concealed weapons to be carried on campus by concealed weapons license holders, makes its way through the state Legislature, West Virginia University continues to provide updates to the campus community. The bill is currently on its way to consideration in the full House of Delegates.
The latest occurred Thursday as the third Campus Conversation was held in the Mountainlair.
The events were led by Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Rob Alsop; Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Joyce McConnell; and University Police Chief W.P. Chedester.
Some faculty, staff and students expressed an interest in traveling to the State Capitol to share their thoughts on the legislation. If they choose to do this, faculty and staff should work with their supervisors. Students must work with professors or academic advisors.
