The rifle team shot 2366 air rifle at the 2018 Great America Rifle Conference Championships at the Bill McKenzie Rifle Range, pushing its aggregate total to 4699 and giving the Mountaineers their ninth straight championship title. WVU's (13-0, 9-0) title is its conference-best 13th. The 2018 GARC regular-season champions as well, the Mountaineers have swept the GARC team titles nine times since 1998.

The day enables students who have benefitted from TRIO programs to give back to their communities.
WVU is hosting more than 325 Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from four states Saturday (Feb. 24) for an on-campus experience at “Merit Badge University.” This day-long event is both educational and fun-filled. Scouts, ages 11-17, take classes just like undergraduates, working with faculty and staff in 20 topic areas that are merit badges, ranging from Robotics to Cooking to Nuclear Science, and including Citizenship, First Aid and Dentistry, among many others.
The David C. Hardesty Jr. Festival of Ideas presents a talk by public historian Elizabeth Catte, T February 27 at 7:30 p.m. in room G15 of the Life Sciences Building on the downtown campus. The event is open to the public and co-sponsored by the WVU Humanities Center and West Virginia University Press.
