Make-A-Wish invites the WVU community to participate in Walk for Wishes at the Rec Center to support local children with critical illnesses.

Walk for Wishes is a community event will help celebrate local wish kids and raise awareness and funds to grant wishes for local children battling critical illnesses. In addition to a family-friendly walk and timed 5K run, attendees will enjoy music, games, delicious food and the chance to hear firsthand from wish kids about the power of a wish experience.

The most common misconception about Make-A-Wish is that it only provides wishes for dying children. Wishes have the power to transform lives by creating an opportunity for hope and the ability to experience life beyond illness. And, the entire family is invited to be part of the wish experience, knowing that parents and siblings need joy and inspiration just as much as the wish child.”

The 2018 Walk for Wishes will be held Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. at the at the WVU Rec Center. Registration for the walk is free, but walkers are encouraged to fundraise or donate leading up to the event.

For more information or to register, visit the Walk for Wishes website.
