The Morgantown Police Department will alter traffic patterns Saturday (July 28) for the MountainFest Parade of Bikes. Parking for automobiles will be restricted on High Street beginning at 10 a.m. Only motorcycles will be permitted to park on High Street during the parade.
The parade will begin at 1 p.m.; the route will start with the motorcycle motorcade at the WVU Coliseum, which will travel south on Monongahela Boulevard towards downtown Morgantown. The motorcade will travel up Campus Drive and turn right onto University Avenue onto the “loop” and then progress past the Mountainlair traveling toward High Street, then follow the normal parade route down High Street.
Traffic in the downtown area will be restricted during the parade. Traffic will not be permitted to enter the downtown area during the parade by way of the Walnut Street Bridge or the Pleasant Street Bridge. Traffic traveling toward the downtown area on Willey Street will be detoured to Prospect Street and restricted at University Avenue and Willey Street. Motorists entering the downtown area from Beechurst Avenue will be delayed during the parade.
Traffic patterns will return to normal as soon as possible following the parade.
