The WVU community is invited to attend a farewell reception for CEHS Dean Gypsy Denzine, scheduled for July 26 at 5:30 p.m. in the rooftop lounge of the Evansdale Crossing at WVU.

Denzine has been appointed senior vice provost for faculty affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University, effective Aug. 6.

“Throughout my time at CEHS, it has been my privilege and honor to work with a talented faculty and staff, passionate students and a supportive, generous base of alumni and friends,” Denzine said. “I will always be grateful for my time here, and I remain proud of how we’ve moved the College forward to better serve the state of West Virginia.”

Since her appointment as dean of the College of Education and Human Services in 2015, Denzine has overseen the enhancement of several of the College’s programs and the addition of new innovative programs to meet West Virginia’s unique educational needs. Throughout her career, she has been credited with 70 refereed publications and more than $900,000 in grant funding, as well as serving as the president of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
