Two-factor hardware now available online through WVU Barnes & Noble stores

Faculty, staff and students can now purchase hardware for use with two-factor authentication through the online WVU Barnes & Noble bookstores. Information Technology Services recommends the use of the free Duo Mobile smartphone app, but display tokens ($24.98) are the simplest alternative for people who don’t have a smartphone. Barnes & Noble also sells a Yubikey, but it is a USB device and only works with the Chrome browser.

After 8 a.m. Thursday, May 10, any employee who is not using two-factor will be unable to log into dozens of secure WVU systems, including Portal, eCampus, web access to Office 365 and Pay Statement. Student workers who don’t enroll will be unable to check final grades in STAR using the Portal.

To activate your account, go to login.wvu.edu on your laptop or desktop computer and select “My Login.” Enter your WVU credentials, click “Enroll in Duo 2-Factor” and follow the steps to enroll your mobile device. Be ready to download the free Duo Mobile smartphone app during this process, and make sure to allow notifications.
