The Teaching and Learning Commons is hosting a workshop titled "How do you know what they know? Meaningful checks for student understanding" by Lindsey Williams, visiting associate professor of music education/Interim Assistant Director of Bands, School of Music.
Have you ever wondered whether your students are understanding the topics being discussed in your class? Ever graded tests and been surprised by what your students didn’t understand? If so, this workshop is for you. We will explore ways of assessing student understanding that you can implement easily in your classroom. These strategies will increase both your students’ engagement as well as your ability to address and reinforce course concepts.
This workshop will be offered from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on two different dates and in two different locations:
Feb. 20 in the Shenandoah Room, Mountainlair
Feb. 21 in Room 234, Evansdale Library.
Light refreshments will be served.
