Register today for ‘Supervisor Solutions: Introduction to Coaching’

Leadership and Organization Development is providing an opportunity for supervisors who would like to develop strong practices around coaching, setting performance expectations and goal setting. The half-day session Feb. 1 will introduce the five elements of emotional intelligence. Learners will discuss how emotional intelligence influences coaching and development of others. Each participant will walk away with tools and resources to help them guide conversation and outcomes around performance standards and goals. “Supervisor Solutions: Introduction to Coaching takes place from noon to 4 p.m. in the Shenandoah Room in the Mountainlair.


Learning Objectives:

  1. Demonstrate understanding of Emotional Intelligence and how it impacts coaching.

  2. Define and discuss various ways to coach employees.

  3. Develop coaching skills around the preparation and delivery of a coaching conversation.

  4. Apply techniques that create clear, measurable and accountable goals for performance.

  • Definition and actions for coaching guiding principles.

  • Templates for preparing for a coaching conversation

  • Samples of SMART goals
