The Teaching and Learning Commons is hosting a workshop titled Writing Your Teaching Statement on two choices of dates and locations: March 6, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Shenandoah Room of the Mountainlair or March 27 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Room 234 of the Evansdale Library.
A teaching philosophy statement is required by many search committees as part of the faculty hiring process. A teaching philosophy is a self-reflective statement of your beliefs about teaching and learning and should discuss how you put your beliefs into practice. This hands-on workshop will provide participants with an opportunity to identify their central beliefs about teaching and consider evidence they can use to support those beliefs in their own teaching statement.
Presenter:
Dr. Lori Ogden, Teaching Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics
