Elaine Sholtis, program coordinator for the WVU Retirees Association in the WVU Division of Talent and Culture, is retiring Jan. 2 after more than 40 years of service to WVU. A reception will be held in her honor on Wednesday (Dec. 13) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Visitor’s Center on the first floor of One Waterfront Place.

Elaine started her career at WVU in January 1973 in the College of Arts and Sciences as an executive assistant to the Dean. Since then she has moved to various other positions in Computing Services, Institutional Advancement EBO, Printing Services, Administration and Finance EBO and finally joining the Division of Talent and Culture in May 2007.

“I’ve been blessed to be able to stay in one place for forty years and to continue to advance in my career. I’ve had wonderful supervisors and coworkers who helped me be successful. But now it’s time for a different direction. It’s not an ending: it’s a new beginning”, Sholtis said. She plans to spend more time with her grandbabies while they are little and do some traveling.

We hope you will join us at her reception to celebrate her many years of service.
