Pearl Harbor Ceremony planned this morning

A Pearl Harbor Ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. today (Dec. 7) at the USS West Virginia mast and bell in front of Oglebay Hall. This will mark the 76th anniversary of the attack that destroyed or damaged 20 American naval vessels, including the USS West Virginia. The West Virginia was one of the hardest hit ships taking on two bombs and seven torpedoes. In spite of the damage, the West Virginia was repaired and returned to action in July 1944.

For more information about the ceremony, please contact Steve Riffon at the Veteran Affairs Office.
