Scholarship  

The U.S. Army’s Health Professions Scholarship Program provides 100% tuition assistance and at least $2,700 in monthly stipends to help make dreams of becoming a doctor, dentist, nurse or veterinarian a reality. Encourage students to attend this information session to learn how they can receive financial support for medical school in exchange for future military service at 6 p.m. Tuesday (April 9) in Bennett Tower, Room G05.

Fundamentals of Engineering is teaming up with the Shirley M. Kimble Training Center to offer CPR and First Aid training from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 3 in the Engineering Sciences Building, Room G3.

Zip Line Canopy Tour  

Tapping into the landscape of the Mountain State, the West Virginia University Outdoor Education Center — run by Adventure WV — provides members of the University and surrounding communities opportunities to learn more about themselves and others by taking on challenges in nature. April marks the start of the new season for the OEC, located near Coopers Rock, and for Morgantown Adventure Outfitters, located in downtown Morgantown.

School Kids Wearing Eclipse Glasses  

The busy campus tour season at West Virginia University coincides with the rare solar eclipse on April 8. With many potential students and families signed up for campus tours that day, the WVU Extension STEMCARE program has stepped up to provide eclipse glasses for all participants.

Comprehensive Cancer Hospital  

The cancer care available to West Virginians took a positive turn Tuesday (April 2) with a transformational gift of $50 million the Hazel Ruby McQuain Charitable Trust is making to the WVU Cancer Institute. The gift will be the catalyst for a new, state-of-the-art, comprehensive cancer hospital that is part of the WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital complex.
