Paul Cassak  

Paul Cassak, professor of physics and astronomy and science advisor for Spark! Imagination and Science Center, is being recognized for the Hands-on School Science Kit outreach program. The winner of the prize receives 500 English pounds, which Cassak pledged directly back to Spark.

Jesse Lawrence  

Growing up in a wheelchair, Dr. Jesse Lawrence learned how doctors can positively affect experiences for patients. Set to graduate from the School of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery’s residency program this spring, he hopes to instill the same calmness and confidence in his patients.

Kate Gelman  

The peer-nominated award is presented to a second-year medical student who portrays ongoing compassion, friendliness and an overall caring attitude toward patients, peers, faculty and staff following the completion of Physical Diagnosis and Clinical Integration coursework.

Hannah Teddleton  

During her undergraduate years in California, Hannah Teddleton conducted research on sheep nutrition but knew it wasn’t quite what she wanted to do. She chose to pursue her passion at WVU and found success — and her calling — in animal science research.

Baseball Game  

The baseball team hosts the last Big 12 home games of the season this weekend as Kansas State visits Kendrick Family Ballpark. First pitch is 6:30 p.m. tonight (May 10), 4 p.m. Saturday (May 11) and 1 p.m. Sunday (May 12).
