David C. Hardesty Jr. Festival of Ideas logo.  

Tonight’s (Nov. 8) David C. Hardesty Jr. Festival of Ideas event at West Virginia University has been canceled due to an unforeseen travel schedule conflict for the speaker. The program, “HATE: Why We Should Resist It With Free Speech, Not Censorship,” was originally scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms. It will be rescheduled for a later date to be determined.

Front Line Professionals meeting  

Join us Wednesday, November 14 from 12-1 in the Shenandoah Room of the Mountainlair for the next Frontline Professionals meeting. Meetings are open to all WVU employees and provide a chance to network, learn new information and get up-to-date on initiatives and happenings at WVU. This month's we will hear from folks who focus on work with some of our special student populations.

West Virginia University will host the 33rd Annual Family Holiday Celebration on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms. Children of the University’s regular full-time and part-time employees, as well as children of graduate assistants are invited to join in various crafts, games, a holiday story follow along video, and a chance to visit with Santa. Families are encouraged to bring winter accessories such as hats, scarves, mittens and gloves that will be donated to the Bartlett House, a United Way agency.

Blue Zones - Live Longer, Better  

WVU is working toward becoming the first college in the country to participate in the Blue Zones Project, a program that promotes healthier lifestyles by changing the campus environment.
