Savannah Pennington, a registered nurse who has a passion for labor, delivery and postpartum care, had an opportunity to provide medical care in Honduras.
Led by a team of expert instructors and designed to assist in developing and maintaining mindful resilience, mental fitness and relaxation, this series will take place from noon to 1 p.m. every Thursday from Sept. 12 to Oct. 17 on Zoom.
This two-year program is available to 75 of West Virginia’s top health professions students interested in rural health care across the state.
Rising eighth, ninth and 10th graders had a chance to learn more about nursing as a career while visiting area hospitals, learning CPR skills and talking with AirEvac professionals.
The program featured a variety of interactive activities designed to enhance student learning and campus familiarity, including a scavenger hunt to acquaint them with campus resources and an escape room to reinforce the skills acquired throughout the program.
