The women’s soccer team participated in its favorite community service activity two weeks ago, as the Mountaineers held their annual 4-versus-4 tournament, “Three’s a Team…the Fourth’s a Mountaineer” event Feb. 26, at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility.

Late last month, West Virginia University gymnastics coach Jason Butts, along with assistant coach Kaylyn Millick, visited with staff at Morgantown’s Betty Puskar Breast Care Center and delivered the donations collected at the Mountaineers’ Wendy M. Roach Pink Meet on Feb. 26.
The men’s soccer team will take its first foreign tour, when it travels to Spain, from May 7-17.
Jordan Mathews’ 3-pointer from the corner with 59 seconds left helped propel No. 1-seeded Gonzaga to a 61-58 victory over West Virginia in an NCAA West regional semifinal game here at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
The Mountaineers return home Friday (March 24) as they take on Jacksonville in the first of a three-game weekend series.
The Mountaineers face their first competition this weekend since losing, 3-1, to USC in the 2016 NCAA College Cup Final on Dec. 4. Before the program turns the page and continues its preparation for the 2017 season, let us look back at one of the most memorable times in the program’s 21-year history.
