The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and WVU Libraries are teaming up again for the Mountaineer Touchdown Challenge, a fundraising campaign to benefit the Libraries.

Senior midfielder Joey Piatczyc will miss the 2017 season after sustaining a knee injury prior to the start of preseason practice. He had successful surgery last Friday.
The starting gun has sounded and construction workers are off and running building Mountaineer Center, a community wellness facility at Mylan Park featuring competitive and community pools and a track and field complex that will also attract visitors from across the region. In addition to school and community use, the estimated $40 million, state-of-the-art center will also be home for West Virginia University’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving and track and cross-country teams.
Another Mountaineer has returned to Morgantown, as women’s basketball coach Mike Carey announced the hiring of former student-athlete Ayana “YaYa” Dunning as the coordinator of player development.
Coming off an 8-7-1 season in 2016, WVU returns nine starters and adds 12 newcomers. After winning his 100th game at West Virginia last year, coach Marlon LeBlanc begins his 12th season at the helm.
In conjunction with the Mountaineer Athletic Club, the West Virginia University volleyball team will introduce VIP floor seating for the 2017 season.
