The West Virginia University baseball team will hold walk-on tryouts for the 2017 season on September 26 for WVU students interested in joining the team. The tryout will begin at 6:30 p.m. and last approximately one hour. The workout will take place at Monongalia County Ballpark.

In its third season under coach Reed Sunahara, the West Virginia University volleyball team will open the 2017 season on Friday when the team hosts Delaware in a 7 p.m. match at the WVU Coliseum as part of the WVU Invitational.
The No. 1-ranked West Virginia University women's soccer team opens its 2017 home season at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium today (Aug. 24) against No. 10 Virginia at 7 p.m. It's a Dollar Night, and all tickets, popcorn, small sodas, nachos, mini pepperoni rolls and candy bars will be available for $1 each. Additionally, it's Poster Night, and all fans in attendance will receive a free Mountaineer schedule poster.
For the seventh year, The Dana Holgorsen Television Show will return to the airways for the fall football season. Fans can watch the show via the Nexstar Media Group stations within West Virginia and Maryland.
Former West Virginia University football coach and Hall of Famer Don Nehlen and former Virginia Tech football coach and almost assuredly soon to be Hall of Famer Frank Beamer, will serve as honorary captains when West Virginia and Virginia Tech renew their rivalry for the Black Diamond Trophy at FedExField on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m., televised on ABC.
Mountaineer fans are invited to Monongalia County Ballpark on Friday (Aug. 25) for the fourth annual WVU men's basketball charity slow pitch softball game. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
