Amanda Hill McWreath  

As an undergrad, Amanda Hill McWreath was in the starting lineup for all 88 women’s soccer matches. That included a senior campaign in which she tallied three game-winning goals and played stout defense for the squad that set a school record with 15 shutouts and won its fourth-straight Big 12 title. But her career decision to be a veterinarian came from a volunteer spot with Hearts of Gold service dogs.

Naresh Ramesh, an assistant professor at WVU Tech, is part of an international team researching one of the most transmitted viruses among pigs — the porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus — which poses a significant economic risk to the pork industry and causes substantial loss of livestock globally.

Jerry West Day  

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will honor the memory and legacy of Mountaineer great Jerry West at the Jan. 18 WVU-Iowa State men’s basketball game at the Coliseum. Members of the West family are expected to be in attendance.
