On Monday (Jan. 27), the WVU Shared Services Center marked its fifth year of serving the University and its regional campuses in the areas of human resources, financial transactions management and post-award grants management.

Kids on Playground  

The West Virginia Statewide Afterschool Network, a program facilitated by WVU Extension, was recently awarded a $75,000 grant from the Benedum Foundation to launch new, quality initiatives to support out-of-school program providers, including an online professional development platform to encourage continuous quality improvement and interaction with statewide after-school standards.

Dr. Sarah Sofka has been named the associate dean and designated institution official for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education as Dr. Manuel Vallejo steps down to focus on his clinical work and commitment in the role of chair of the ACGME Anesthesiology Review Committee.

Brenna Lansden, a nurse practitioner at WVU Medicine Cheat Lake Physicians, is the recipient of the 2024 Advanced Practice Providers Rising Star award. The honor recognizes her exceptional impact on patient care and her profession in just three years of advanced practice.
