The Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to innovation, achieving a record high of $52.2 million in total research expenditures for the 2023 fiscal year. As a result, all engineering programs reached the top 100 rankings in the latest National Science Foundation Higher Education Research and Development Survey.

Track and Field  

The track and field team will return to University Park, Pennsylvania, for the Penn State National Open from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1 at the Multi-Sport Facility and Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.

Planetarium Starry Sky  

“Mars: The Ultimate Voyage” will take place from 6-7 p.m. and “Stars: Powerhouses of the Universe” from 7-8 p.m. tomorrow (Jan. 31). Shows are free and open to the public.

Hip-Hop on the Mountaintop  

The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences will host a free hip-hop concert and panel discussion Feb. 6 as part of its fourth annual Eberly Roundtable. This year’s event will celebrate the culture, community, creativity and identity of hip-hop in Appalachia.
