Hoping to speed up the move from idea to application, West Virginia University and 23 other regional institutions have come together to create a “virtual hub” that will ultimately help speed the commercialization of groundbreaking university research.

Elizabeth Engler-Chiurazzi, a research assistant professor in the School of Medicine, and her colleagues at WVU are among the first researchers to make the connection between B cells and the effectiveness of antidepressants.
Paul Cassak, professor of physics and astronomy, will deliver the 2018 Benedum Distinguished Lecture at 4 p.m.Oct. 18 in the Milano Room of the Wise Library. This lecture is open to all members of the campus and local community.

The School of Pharmacy will soon become one of the few pharmacy schools in the nation that leads a center of biomedical research excellence. Funded by the National Institutes of Health, these centers support interdisciplinary, thematically related research into preventing, diagnosing and treating health problems.
