The Center for Excellence in Disabilities will award up to four mini-grants of up to $2,500 to collaborative teams including community representatives, providers, researchers, and/or organizations to implement evidence-based and promising strategies that promote health and independence among individuals with disabilities in West Virginia. Research or program development proposals that address employment or successful transitions are encouraged.

WVCTSI’s Clinical and Translational Research Seminar Series will host a session focusing on successful strategies for community-based research March 15. Sally Hurst, director of outreach programs, and Drema Mace, executive director, both with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine’s Center for Rural and Community Health, will present, “Best Strategies and Models for Community-Based Participatory Research.”

Eveline S. van Leeuwen, professor in spatial economics and chair of Urban Economics, Wageningen University, Netherlands, will be present Urban-Rural Interactions in 325 Brooks Hall, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. today (March 7).
