Effective today (May 6), the United States Government Policy for Oversight of Dual Use Research of Concern and Pathogens with Enhanced Pandemic Potential will require institutions receiving federal funding to provide additional oversight and notification to federal funding agencies related to certain types of pathogen research.

Baseball Action  

The No. 12 baseball team hits the road for the Backyard Brawl today (May 6). First pitch is 6 p.m. from Charles L. Cost Field in Pittsburgh.

Volleyball  

The Mountaineers will participate in four separate tournaments and host three nonconference matches at the Coliseum for the West Virginia Invitational. The 2025 season will begin on Aug. 29 at the Quest for the Crown, hosted by Old Dominion in Fairfax, Virginia.

David Stewart  

OLLI at WVU and the WVU Committee of Retired Faculty will host a virtual lecture by David Stewart titled “Swimming in the Fabric: Time, Space, Narrative, Memory, and the Gravity of Experience” at 2:30 p.m Wednesday (May 7) on Zoom.

Student Fashion Show  

Celebrate the artistry and vision of fashion design and merchandising students at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (May 8) in the Canady Creative Arts Center, Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre. Showcasing the creativity, talent and innovation of students, this year’s theme is “Artistry in Motion.”
